George Washington University Summer Immersion

Use Washington as an extended classroom for policy, data and leadership.

GW Summer Immersion combines focused teaching, group activities and Washington’s institutions in a two-week noncredit experience. Students select a course for deeper study; the themes below illustrate course directions, with 2027 offerings available through an advisor.

Foreign policy and multilateral cooperation

The foreign-policy direction examines trade, security, conflict and environmental policy, comparing goals and trade-offs.

Data and business decisions

The data direction develops datasets, trend analysis and interactive dashboards for entrepreneurial decisions.

Misinformation and AI

A related course studies the psychology of misinformation and how AI complicates judgments about authenticity.

Leadership and public communication

Leadership-oriented work uses hands-on advocacy and public speaking to explore community change.

Applicants need academic readiness and maturity; transcripts in other languages require translation. Summer Immersion does not provide F-1 sponsorship, so international families should confirm an eligible entry status before booking.
