Camp Highlander in Horse Shoe keeps cabinmates together for activities, meals and daily responsibilities. Each cabin has up to ten campers and at least two counselors, while multi-week stays also include Camper Choice periods. Courage, honesty, integrity and faith underpin a program built around mountain adventure and a consistent community.

Paddling, kayaking and river tubing feature according to age, session and program scheduling.
Pottery, crafts, cooking and performances balance practical creativity with group expression.
Stays of two weeks or longer can include Pisgah or DuPont forest hikes, natural rock climbing and swimming-hole excursions.
A consistent cabin group anchors much of the day, helping campers know their peers and counselors.
Multi-week programs balance cabin structure with opportunities to choose activities individually.
The camp describes participation from multiple countries; individual language and travel arrangements still need review.
The camp has a Christian-values background. Six-year-olds must have completed kindergarten; 2027 C/BC serve grades 3–10. Only the BC combination includes between-session care; other combinations require departure and re-arrival.
Application deposit: USD 1,000. Card payments incur 3% and echecks 1%. Applications after March 15, 2027 require full payment.
Deposit refunds before January 15, 2027 deduct USD 300. Remaining tuition is refundable on written cancellation before March 15; afterward there are no refunds, credits or transfers.
The optional Program Protector product is limited to U.S. residents; overseas families should verify suitable coverage and cancellation exposure separately.
Travel: complimentary camper transfers serve AVL only, not other airports or parents. Published windows are 6 a.m.–noon on arrival and 6 a.m.–1 p.m. on departure; reconfirm for 2027 before booking.
Daily life: campers live in same-gender cabin groups, share meals and cleaning, and learn specialist activities with activity staff.
International planning: discuss English communication, health support and airline unaccompanied-minor services; submit travel details at least three weeks ahead.
