Use Lake George as a classroom for paddling, chosen skills and real wilderness outings.
Chingachgook sits on Lake George’s eastern shore in the Adirondacks, with overnight camp for ages 7–15 and day camp for ages 5–10. Overnight campers submit skill preferences and attend four assigned classes each day, alongside cabin activities, lake swimming and evening programs. Two-week campers take a three-day, two-night wilderness excursion; one-week groups explore on foot or by boat for an afternoon. It is a strong fit for children comfortable with simpler living and substantial outdoor time.
Overnight campers rank ten preferences and are assigned four daily skills classes, with options spanning sailing, archery, arts and sports.
Wilderness excursions
Two-week stays include a three-day, two-night excursion grouped by age and difficulty; one-week stays include an afternoon hike or paddle.
Lake swimming & paddlesports
Lake time builds familiarity with the water; sailing, paddlesports and selected ski activities require the relevant swim test.
Themed evenings & cabin life
Themed canoe races, scavenger hunts, dances and evening reflection extend the shared experience beyond classes.
Day camp discovery
Day campers ages 5–10 try swimming, teamwork games, sports, archery, climbing and canoeing, with lunch and a snack.
