UW Youth & Teen offers noncredit enrichment. Its AI and machine-learning course introduces models and applications, guides students in developing an AI tool, and examines social implications. In-person classes meet on the UW Seattle campus.

Explore core machine-learning and neural-network concepts.
Investigate computer vision, reinforcement learning and generative AI.
Learn to use AI tools for different tasks and create an original tool.
Discuss AI’s potential impacts and responsible development.
Students need foundational Python knowledge and familiarity with code libraries.
Campus classes typically run three hours daily for two weeks, suited to families with local care arrangements.
High-school participants can document completion with the program’s digital badge.
Visiting international eligibility, immigration status and guardianship must be confirmed with an advisor before booking; the grade range alone does not establish eligibility.

Commuter classes do not include housing or lunch. Bring food, water and a suitable laptop, and arrange transportation.
After two pickups at least 30 minutes late, all students in the family group are removed from remaining summer campus classes without refund.
