TSNG Learning Center
Buford, Georgia
Begin learning with the woods, a question and a group of curious peers.
School introduction
TSNG uses woods and fields as everyday learning spaces, with curiosity, compassion, critical thinking and connection to nature at the heart of its approach. Small multi-age groups give children room to raise questions, investigate their surroundings and work with peers.
The teaching team draws on Reggio Emilia, Montessori, environmental education and the arts. Learning is shaped around students’ needs and family input. Its hybrid model connects campus experiences with learning at home, giving families an insight into nature-based inquiry and individualized education.
Curriculum
The regular elementary division covers K–6, with language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Teachers draw from different curriculum resources, connecting reading, writing, number concepts and observation with games, practical projects and outdoor exploration, while supporting individual progress within mixed-age groups.
Grades 7–8 combine morning meetings and goal-setting with independent learning and collaborative discovery. Independent blocks may involve reading, writing, mathematics, research or online coursework agreed with families. Shared projects connect academic skills with science investigations, design, community work and the arts.
Illustrative projects include model bridges, community-garden investigations, a student newspaper and theatre. Themes depend on students’ interests and teaching plans. Regular campus classes run Monday–Wednesday, with home learning forming part of the wider model. Contact an advisor about short-term participation and timetables.
