High-school campus and lawn

School introduction

This San Diego school brings academic study together with art, handwork, music and movement. Students develop understanding through observation, discussion and making, while practising communication through collaboration.

Individual visits for Grades 9–12 centre on participation in regular high-school classes. Stays usually range from two weeks to six months, allowing students to experience the rhythm of everyday school life.

Curriculum

Regular high-school subjects include science, mathematics, history, English and world languages. A daily seminar of around 110 minutes typically explores one topic over three to four weeks through discussion, observation and hands-on enquiry.

Drama, handwork, music and movement also form part of the wider curriculum. Visiting subjects and classroom tasks depend on prior learning, English ability and the timetable during the stay.

  • Short stays are for high-school students.
  • A two-week stay may cover only part of a thematic block; subjects and activities depend on the current timetable.
