FBA Academy

Dallas, Texas

Building independent learners through academic writing, STEM and practical study skills.

Campus setting

School introduction

FBA opened in 1972 with kindergarten through grade 7, added grades over time and graduated its first senior class in 1977. Its college-preparatory approach connects thoughtful reading, independent learning and personal responsibility throughout a student’s development.

School life emphasizes integrity, respect, reliability and service. Elementary children have high-school mentors, while older students encounter further leadership and service opportunities. On-campus courts, fields and track facilities support team activities.

Curriculum

In grades 7–8, English develops literary analysis, research, writing and presentation, while social studies moves from Texas to U.S. history. Science progresses from living systems and ecology to forces, energy, Earth and space; mathematics offers regular and advanced routes according to readiness.

Middle-school options include Spanish or American Sign Language, band, and rotations in art, theatre and STEM. Success Seminar focuses on planning, time management, digital literacy and preparation for high school, making study habits an explicit part of the program.

High school adds honors, AP and university dual-credit opportunities across English, geography and history, economics and government, mathematics and laboratory sciences. These describe the regular curriculum; contact an advisor about short-stay schedules, prerequisites and activity access.

  • Bible is explicitly included in the regular middle-school curriculum, and teaching incorporates the school’s faith perspective. Contact an advisor about classes and assembly participation for short-term students.
