Explore interests through experiments, design and the arts across a varied school community.
School introduction
Founded in 1953, FS has grown into a multi-campus school community spanning preschool through high school. Its educational approach pairs academic challenge with personal support, encouraging students to ask questions, communicate ideas and take increasing responsibility for their learning.
The campuses have distinct identities. One elementary and middle school campus offers authorized IB PYP and MYP programmes, while the high school provides more specialized academic pathways. Arts, athletics, debate and student leadership give learners different ways to contribute and develop their interests.
Curriculum
Elementary learning combines reading, English writing, mathematics, science and social studies with Spanish, visual arts, music, PE and technology. At the IB elementary campus, early phonics develops into extended reading and writing, while experiments and thematic projects build observation and presentation skills.
Grades 6–8 at that campus study language and literature, mathematics, science, humanities, languages, PE and design. Science progresses through earth, life and physical science. Design projects include recycled-material toys, pop-up books and adaptive devices; electives include robotics, drama, music and debate.
The high school offers English, history and social sciences, algebra through calculus and statistics, biology, chemistry and physics, alongside business, STEM and performing and visual arts pathways. Programmes differ by campus. A short-term student’s campus, grade and subject access depend on the actual placement; contact an advisor.
