NDA Academy
Duluth, Georgia
Connected inquiry turns classroom questions into communication, collaboration and community understanding.
School introduction
Established in Duluth in 2005, NDA Academy graduated its first senior class in 2019. Its smaller learning community spans several school divisions and emphasizes knowing individual students, while developing academic progress, collaboration, communication and social responsibility.
The school offers the IB Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, using inquiry, action and reflection to connect learning. Technology-based creation and grade-level service projects encourage students to relate knowledge to their community and develop global awareness through different perspectives.
Curriculum
The PYP, from pre-kindergarten through Grade 5, connects language, mathematics, science, social studies, arts, and personal, social and physical education through shared themes. An inquiry into business and social responsibility might combine money calculations, a written plan, advertising design and music, examining one idea from several perspectives.
Grade 5 culminates in an inquiry exhibition involving student goals, collaboration and reflection. Lower-school spaces include a science exploration lab, media center, production studio, and art and music rooms. iPads or MacBooks support learning, alongside PE, outdoor activity and age-appropriate service projects.
The MYP continues inquiry into later grades, including a Grade 10 Personal Project. High school offers IB and AP courses, with an extended essay in the full Grade 12 Diploma pathway. Contact an advisor about short-term timetables, activities and participation requirements.
- Regular school life includes Catholic religious education, daily prayer and Mass. Grade 2 religious study includes sacramental preparation; contact an advisor about participation boundaries and arrangements for short-term pupils.
